Managing Multiple Horses in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered
In The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, owning horses is more complex than before. The game has better controls and more features for horse care. Here’s how you can manage your horses and what you need to know.

Acquiring Horses
Horses can be bought from stables in Cyrodiil. Each stable has different horses and qualities. The Remastered edition has more breeds and better textures.
Once you buy a horse, it becomes your main horse. It will follow you after fast travel and respond to commands. You can have more than one horse, but only one can be your main at a time
Stolen horses are generally only good for one-way transportation, because they will start walking back to their home stable after you dismount. Bay horses and Imperial Legion horses will stick around, however. Remounting a previously stolen horse will incur another bounty if you are seen.
Switching Between Horses
To change your main horse, go back to its stable. Simply riding the horse will now make that your main and move with you during fast travel while your previous horse will begin its walk back to it’s original stable
What Happens to Your Other Horses?
Horses can be purchased from stables across Cyrodiil (except from the one in the Imperial City) starting at 500 gold. Each stable has several types of horses, but only sells one. The price is fixed, you can’t haggle, and your Mercantile skills have no effect. After you purchase one, it will be found waiting outside in the corral , so be very careful not to accidentally take the wrong horse if there are others like it in there.
When you purchase a new horse, your previous active horse will return to the stable where you bought it from. You can switch between owned horses by mounting them, making them your new active horse.
